Honey Bacon Dressing

What tastes better than bacon? This dressing combines the sweet and tangy notes of homemade honey mustard with bacon and creates a delicious marinade over grilled chicken or on our chicken salad.


6 ounces chopped bacon (about 8 pieces)

4 ounces bacon fat

2 tablespoons corn starch

8 ounces vinegar

2 teaspoons diced garlic

3 ounces honey

2/3 teaspoon ground mustard

1 teaspoon onion salt


Dice and cook bacon until crispy. Crumble any larger bits. Reserve 4 ounces of bacon fat from cooking.

In a separate bowl, mix corn starch with vinegar until all lumps are removed and set aside.

In small sauce pan, add bacon fat and garlic over medium heat until garlic is cooked. Add honey, bacon, mustard, onion salt, as well as cornstarch and vinegar mix. Put over medium heat until it starts to thicken. Remove and serve warm.

Serves: 3-4
