Homemade Cleaning Spray

Did you know that Vinegar is a natural product that is shown to kill cold and flu germs? It is about 5 percent acetic acid, and the acid is what kills bacteria and viruses (1). Would you like to clean your house with a more natural product and avoid the introduction of harsh chemicals and fumes into their home? This recipe uses food items you probably have in your home for a more natural, healthier "clean".

Ingredients:

1 Quart Mason Jar with air tight lid

3 cups white distilled vinegar

peels 3-4 lemon from

2 large sprigs of rosemary

Directions:

Wash lemons with a bit of vinegar and a scrub brush, rinse and peel.

Add peels and rosemary sprigs to mason jar.

Add vinegar and set in the sun for 2 weeks shaking to stir daily.

Strain the vinegar reserving the lemon peels for future use and discarding the rosemary.

Add infused vinegar to a spray bottle. Can be used for most household surfaces.

Bonus Idea:

I use discarded rosemary and, when no longer useful, lemon peels to "clean" my garbage disposal by grinding them up. This brings a more pleasant smell to your disposal.

This doesn't mean Vinegar is safe for all surfaces. As with any product, check to make sure it is safe for the surface before applying.
