    Garden Fresh Cucumber Salad

Need a refreshing, light side dish on a hot summer night? This cucumber salad is cool and delicious. In some parts of this dish is also called "new pickles" and the taste is referred to as "hardly dunked in brine." The bit of sugar cuts the tart vinegar and combines to make a light and healthy side dish that is colorful and pairs nicely with most meats. I paired mine with the Basil Butter Salmon (recipe found here). Ingredients: 1-2 medium cucumbers 6 cherry tomatoes 1/4 cup

    Planning for the new year

I try to savor these few months of downtime and use it to allow my soul and body to rest - at least from the outside tasks. I find these cooler months ideal for planning and canning as well as learning new old skills. You know the ones I'm talking about... the a

For Farmer Mike and I, the decision to bake homemade bread wasn't to save money, although with a store loaf ringing up at $2.50 while a
